About the Film

OPERATION RESURRECTION:
The Warrior Returns

FORMAT:
"Operation Resurrection" is a documentary dedicated to defining and promoting coordinated solutions to the health, education, and employment issues our Iraq (OIF-Operation Iraqi Freedom) and Afghanistan (OEF-Operation Enduring Freedom) veterans face when they return home.

SYNOPSIS:
The goal of this unique and timely documentary is to assist struggling service men and women who have just returned from war. It is an inspirational show that highlights SOLUTIONS to the daunting challenges awaiting our heroes upon their return.

This project is driven by individuals alone and in groups, philanthropic corporations, concerned communities, and engaged politicians who are defining America's response to the homecoming of our warriors. Most importantly, we need to listen to our returning heroes and decide what can and must be done to resurrect the lives of our warriors, our warriors' families, and the institutions and agencies that strive to care for them.

The solutions are not speculative. They are established and growing programs that have been formulated and created by some of the experts in our nation. From coast-to-coast, people are already on the move to assist those who have sacrificed so much for our freedom.

PREMISE:
Operation Resurrection will highlight the lives of several veterans who have just returned and demonstrate the strategies utilized for successful reintegration. Solutions to health, education, and employment will be discussed with a highly skilled team of experts, several of whom are volunteering their own time, trying new programs to help these struggling heroes find health, education, and employment. The documentary will demonstrate how The Department of Defense, The Veterans Administration, and civilian health care facilities must share technology, data, and patients, for the healing to occur on a large scale. With the healing of each veteran comes an improved strength to the family, the community, the nation, and the world.

WHO ARE THE SERVICE MEMBERS?
The Operation Resurrection team has interviewed hundreds of service men and women in across the United States, discussing the similarities and differences of veterans' coordinated efforts in the heartland and the coast. The returning veterans discuss the various physical and emotional hurdles facing them upon return. The experts discuss solutions which can be implemented on a broader scale to assist the military personnel and their families.

WHAT MAKES THIS PROJECT UNIQUE?
The team researched the existing documentaries produced and found no other film that addresses the solutions to the obstacles currently facing our returning veterans and their families. Just about every body currently knows someone who has fought in the Mideast conflicts or is still deployed there, yet the average citizen is shielded from the day-to-day struggles of our returning heroes. The media frequently discusses the shortcomings of the veterans system, especially with diagnosing and treating TBI, the signature wound of these wars. On each level there are simple and complex solutions to the health, education, employment, and personal issues facing the OIF/OEF Veterans as a WHOLE and the hero as an individual. Sharing resources with civilian and military medical and educational facilities is a KEY to this process of RESURRECTION. Corporate America can greatly assist, as they did in post World War II, in bringing employment and hope to our global, noble generation of war heroes.
